BRIEF: Beckley VA to host Mental Health Summit

Aug. 08--The Beckley VA Medical Center will host a Mental Health Summit tomorrow to highlight recent advances in improving veterans' care.
The summit will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the National Mine Health and Safety Academy, located at 1301 Airport Road in Beaver.
The goal of the Mental Health Summit is to enhance the mental health and well-being of veterans and their family members through increased collaboration between the VA and the community. The summit will cover topics including access, suicide prevention, changing use of opioids in pain management, evidenced based psychotherapy, military sexual trauma and whole health.
There is no cost to attend. The 2018 Mental Health Summit has been approved for eight West Virginia social work, counseling, or nursing CEUs.
